40 shades of green
When I was out cutting the grass this morning I realised that, yes, when you live in Ireland you have 40 shades of green. To be more precise. When I was out cutting my weeds today I noticed that they are all a different shade of green. Is this where the saying comes from? This weed is dark green. This daisy is a bit lighter. This dandelion is a bit darker. This docken is lighter. And this tiny patch of grass is grass green (except where the dog has piddled on it) I have come to the conclusion. If you keep it cut every week at the shortest height possible then it looks green and nice an tidy. So for now it will get cut every week (unless it's raining!)
I have had this amazing plan in the back of my mind for some time now. I am going to get as much of my Rolling Stones really interesting items frames. after I do that I will arrange with the local Heritage Centre (I know thw manager ther) to put on an exhibition in one of the halls. Of course I would have to be there as well all the time as i wouldn't trust anybody with 'The Collection' for a minute. The biggest problem is, getting the stuff frames for a decent price, (a price that I can afford that is) but still look the bizness. i took some items down to a framers in the town and explained what I wanted done. He hmm'd and hmmm'd and said to leave it with him. I am awaiting to hear what he has come up with. Somehow i think that if i do get theses pieces framed i will need a bigger house to store them in. I am happy here. I don't want to move. What do I do? I could always do what my wife has suggested all along. Sell the collection!!!!! AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH! Heart attact or what.

What went wrong?
Went into hospital this morning for a minor operation on my hand. I have been waiting for this procedure as they now call it for 2 years now and was looking forward to having it over and done with. When I arrived at 8.30AM at the unit and handed my letter over to the receptionist and got the reply.......oh! did nobody phone you on Monday to tell you that your operation has been cancelled? I said no. She said wait a minute. I said whats wrong. She said nothing, please wait a minute. I said whats wrong. She called for the ward nurse. I asked what was wrong. The nurse calles for the ward sister. I asked what was wrong. She asked me to wait in the patients waiting room. I did. And I waited and waited and waited and and and .......The sister came back and explained that my operation had been cancelled by the consultants secretary on Monday on the hospital system but had not told the wards secretary to tell me. What went wrong?
In this day and age of computers and systems and files and procedures and secretaries why couldn't one of them just pick up the bloody phone and tell me.
Now I am on a prority waiting list. I will be operated on in maybe 2 months or so. Some priorty, What would happen if it was urgent? 6 months!
Ta for now
